Due to the anticipated strong snowfall in Washington, the inauguration of the elected president Donald Trump will take place in a closed venue inside the Capitol. For public viewing of the ceremony of taking the oath and the subsequent presidential parade, the Capital One Arena will be opened, where Trump plans to join after the official portion, it is reported by NewsBox.

Earlier, Donald Trump announced on Truth Social about the postponement of the inaugural address, prayer, and other events originally scheduled for the Capitol rotunda, citing low temperatures. He also announced a live transmission of the ceremony and parade at the Capital One Arena, where attendees are expected to arrive after the oath is taken, according to CNN.

The United States Congress Joint Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies has officially confirmed the move of the 60th inauguration ceremony from the Capitol to the rotunda based on a request from the elected president and his inaugural committee.

According to CNN, the Secret Service, Capitol Police, and other agencies are urgently coordinating a security plan due to the postponement of the inauguration and parade to a closed venue. The rescheduling of the events, which is usually done months in advance, now takes only three days. The inauguration, designated by the Department of Homeland Security as a national special security event, requires a comprehensive federal approach, and planning is underway for security measures beginning in early 2024.
