"Gift to Putin!" – Trump suggested a plan that could change the government in Ukraine?

Member of the European Parliament Sergey Lagodinsky criticized Donald Trump's peace plan, stating that it involves holding presidential elections in Ukraine before signing a peace agreement. According to him, this scenario plays into Vladimir Putin's hands and could lead to a change of power in Kyiv, reports NewsBox.

Member of the European Parliament Sergey Lagodinsky remarked that Donald Trump's peace plan envisions a ceasefire, the holding of Ukrainian presidential elections, and only then the signing of a peace agreement.

According to the politician, this order of events could benefit the Kremlin, as Russia is interested in a change of government in Kyiv.

Particularly, the election aspect is a gift from Trump to Putin. Putin detests Zelensky because he thwarted his plans to bring Ukraine under control and dreams of installing a pro-Russian candidate after a draining war. For Trump, it would also be convenient to have a president so weak that he would squander all Ukrainian resources. For us Europeans, it should be absolutely clear that elections MUST occur AFTER the final stage. Not before, wrote Lagodinsky on social media platform X.

Although this information hasn't been officially confirmed, Europe is already discussing the potential implications of such a scenario for Ukraine and the West.
