Courthouse Building Targeted Following Arrest of Former President of South Korea

Supporters of the detained former President of South Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol, have staged a protest at the courthouse, as reported by NewsBox.

A group of about 100 supporters has taken to the streets in South Korea to protest against police interventions and to assault the courthouse building. The activists smashed windows, broke doors, damaged furniture, and vandalized the premises.

It is noteworthy that Yoon Suk-yeol was arrested on January 15 at his residence in Seoul following the announcement of martial law. Subsequently, he faced impeachment charges and was also issued allegations of abuse of power and corruption.

During the court session, the ex-president made a 40-minute speech, expressing regret over his arrest. He called the judicial proceedings unfair, claiming that they were "manufactured" and involved multiple violations.
