Trump Invited the Opposition Instead of the Kremlin: Who Attended the Inauguration?
Donald Trump did not invite Kremlin representatives to his inauguration, opting instead to send invitations to Russian opposition figures, reports NewsBox.
At the inauguration of Donald Trump, the 47th President of the United States, Kremlin representatives were notably absent, but Russian opposition members received invitations. Among those invited were politician Mikhail Khodorkovsky and economist Andrey Illarionov, who is a member of the 'Congress of People's Deputies.'
Illarionov shared a photo of the invitation card on his Facebook page, while Khodorkovsky confirmed receiving the invitation via Telegram, adding that he plans to attend the ceremony to "satisfy curiosity and restore contacts."
The Kremlin stated that no official invitations to the inauguration were received.
The Russian ambassador was also absent from the event: Aleksandr Darchiev, who was considered for this position, did not receive approval from the American government.
