Russia Intensifies Pressure on the Front Near Pokrovsk
The Ukrainian General Staff's report for January 20 highlights intense offensive operations by the Russian military over a broad front near Pokrovsk, as reported by NewsBox.
According to military data, 72 clashes were recorded in this area over the course of the day, making up almost half of the total engagements along the entire front line (151).
Per the General Staff's information, Russian forces launched attacks along an approximately 40-kilometer front stretching from Vodyane Druhe in the east to Kotlin in the southwest. However, there is no information about any enemy advances. The report specifies that Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 65 attacks, with 7 still ongoing.
The increase in combat activity near Pokrovsk underscores the strategic importance of this sector of the front. Ukrainian military officials note that the situation remains tense, but they are managing to maintain control over key positions.
