Mass drone attacks on Kazan: what is known at this time?
All attacks on Kazan by drones: explosions, operations by law enforcement, deployed sirens and emergency measures at airports — everything concerning the known early morning attack on the city, reported NewsBox.
Early in the morning on January 20, Kazan experienced a series of attacks by drones, with explosions occurring in various districts of the city.
According to eyewitnesses, the first explosions happened around five in the morning. Local residents reported hearing three to four loud bangs, likely linked to attempts to target Kazan's aviation and helicopter factories.
By 5:50, the Federal Air Transport Agency imposed temporary restrictions on flights at Kazan airport. Within an hour, similar measures were implemented at Nizhnekamsk airport. Around 6:00 a.m., explosions were reported in the Moscow, Kirov, and Novo-Savin district areas. Sirens sounded in the aviation districts, warning of the threat.
Based on preliminary information, the authorities used "Luch" unmanned aerial vehicles, created based on the Turkish "Bayraktar" design. These UAVs have been previously deployed in attacks on Tatarstan. The law enforcement system responded to the threats. Local media reported fires, but no specific details have yet been revealed.
The third wave of explosions occurred around 6:50 a.m., after which sirens were again activated in several areas of the city.
