"20 Explosions Already!" – Ukrainian Drones Target Smolensk

On the night of January 21, Ukrainian Armed Forces drones launched an attack on the Smolensk region. The primary target appeared to be an aircraft manufacturing plant. However, drones also struck residential buildings, leading to a major fire, as reported by NewsBox.

The region witnessed a large-scale drone assault during the night. Residents reported hearing explosions and shared videos showing drones in flight and the aftermath of the strikes. 

Fragments of a downed drone fell on a high-rise building on Borodinskaya Street in Smolensk, igniting the facade. The fire was quickly extinguished.  

The attacks caused power outages in some residential areas, damaged windows, and triggered fires on roofs of separate buildings. Emergency services are actively responding at the scenes. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties.

According to local residents' reports, the likely target of the drones was an aviation plant in Smolensk. Unconfirmed information suggests a fire broke out on the plant's grounds. The Russian Ministry of Defense states that air defense forces managed to intercept the attacks.
