A Picketer Against the Demolition of the Vysotsky Monument Took Place in Odessa

In Odessa, the confrontation over the demolition of monuments to Russian cultural figures continues. Protests and statements from public figures are sparking intense debates in society, reports NewsBox.

The standoff in Odessa over the dismantling of monuments to Russian cultural figures is intensifying. On January 12, a previously announced picket took place against the demolition of the monument to Vladimir Vysotsky, although its organizer was summoned to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) the day before the event.

A well-known Odessa resident, former host of the TV show "Orel i Reshka," Nikolai Serga, who joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces after the invasion began, addressed the public in a video message. In his statement, he called for an end to the "war on monuments" and Russian culture as a whole.

However, his position was sharply criticized by the head of the Odessa regional military administration, Oleg Kiper. He suggested that those opposed to the demolition of monuments should move to Russian cities such as Ufa or Krasnoyarsk.

The confrontation over historical and cultural sites in Odessa continues to escalate, sparking debates within society.
