Zelensky rules out Ukraine's participation in Russia-US talks in Saudi Arabia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that his country will not participate in the upcoming talks between Russia and the USA, scheduled for February 18 in Saudi Arabia, according to NewsBox.
In an interview with Politico, Zelensky emphasized that Kyiv was not informed about the upcoming meeting and that his visit to the region had been planned long before Washington proposed holding talks with Moscow in Riyadh.
"Ukraine will not be a party to these negotiations. We were not aware of their organization, and my visit to the region was planned before the American side decided to meet with Russia," stated Zelensky.
According to the Ukrainian leader, any negotiations taking place without Ukraine's involvement are doomed to fail. He also mentioned that on the day the consultations between the USA and Russia begin, he will be in Turkey and will arrive in Saudi Arabia the following day.
"My visits are not connected to the upcoming talks. Nevertheless, upon my arrival in Saudi Arabia, I intend to inquire with His Majesty about the details and topics planned for discussion," added Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine also expressed support for expanding the negotiation process by including European leaders. He stressed that any talks should focus on providing real security guarantees for Ukraine and exerting pressure on Russia to achieve a lasting peace.
