Spirit Airlines has revised its carriage contract, imposing stricter requirements on passengers' appearance. According to the new rules, travelers will need to cover certain tattoos or wear more modest clothing to avoid issues when boarding. reports NewsBox.

The updated contract, effective from January 22, states that passengers «will not be allowed to board» or «may be asked to leave the aircraft» if their clothing or «items, including body art», are deemed «offensive, indecent, or objectionable», writes CNN.

«Inappropriate attire» now also includes «see-through clothing, insufficiently covered, exposing the chest, buttocks, or other intimate areas». Additionally, the airline reaffirmed its ban on walking barefoot on the plane.

Clothing choices have long been a contentious issue for airline passengers. There have been instances where airlines have denied boarding to passengers because of their attire.

Last October, Spirit Airlines passenger Tara Kehidi recounted an incident where a flight attendant asked her and her friend to leave the plane due to their cropped tops. Similar situations have occurred with passengers of other airlines.
