Trump to the Rescue: The US to Launch a Resettlement Program for White South Africans

The US plans to resettle white South Africans, whom Trump has described as victims of "racial discrimination" in South Africa, while also freezing financial aid to the country, reports NewsBox.

US President Donald Trump has signed an order aimed at supporting white residents of South Africa, asserting that they are being discriminated against by the South African government. The document calls for halting financial aid to the nation and creating a special program to facilitate their relocation to the US as refugees.

American authorities accuse South African President Cyril Ramaphosa's administration of employing "unjust policies" against Afrikaners, descendants of 17th-century European settlers. According to Trump, South Africa continues to forcibly seize land without compensation, and white South Africans face discrimination in employment, education, and entrepreneurship.

In 2023, the US allocated approximately $440 million to South Africa, but these funds will now be frozen. Elon Musk, who comes from a South African family, has endorsed Trump's initiative, claiming that white farmers in the country have fallen victim to "racist property laws."

South African authorities deny the allegations, asserting that land redistribution is necessary to address historical racial inequities. Ramaphosa has declared that his country "will not succumb to intimidation" and does not intend to revise the land reform. South Africa's foreign ministry has noted that the US is granting refugee status to a group that remains one of the most economically privileged, while denying asylum to individuals from other parts of the world.
