Trump 'Pressures' Colombia: A Firm Response to Migrant Acceptance Refusal

Donald Trump managed to secure concessions from Colombia regarding the acceptance of deported migrants within 24 hours by imposing strict sanctions and restrictions. After the Colombian President Gustavo Petro agreed to take back his citizens, Trump sarcastically responded to him on social media platform 'X'," reports NewsBox.
Donald Trump demonstrated a tough approach in addressing the issue of deported migrants, facing resistance from Colombia. Last week, the US began sending deportation flights to the migrants' home countries using military cargo planes. However, Colombia closed its airspace to these flights. The Colombian President Gustavo Petro justified this decision by alleging that the US does not provide 'decent treatment' to the deportees.
Trump's response was swift. He ordered the closure of the American embassy in Bogotá, imposed a 50% tariff on goods from Colombia, banned Colombian officials from entering the US, tightened border controls for Colombian citizens, and announced sanctions against Colombia's economy and banking system. According to Trump, these measures will remain in effect until Colombia starts accepting its deported citizens.
An hour after the restrictions were announced, Colombian President Gustavo Petro declared that he would send his personal presidential plane to evacuate his citizens. In response, Trump posted a photo of himself on 'X' with the initials 'FAFO', which stands for 'F**k Around and Find Out'.
A similar situation previously occurred with Mexico, which promptly conceded to the US demands and began accepting deportation flights. Meanwhile, the Brazilian authorities criticized the US for using handcuffs during the deportation process of migrants.
