Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced he will visit the White House on February 4 at the invitation of Donald Trump. This will mark the first foreign leader visit during the second term of the former U.S. President. The visit gains particular importance amidst ongoing efforts to maintain a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, as well as discussions on long-term conflict resolution solutions, according to NewsBox.

Donald Trump has already announced the meeting, stating to journalists aboard Air Force One, "I intend to speak with Bibi Netanyahu in the not-too-distant future," writes The Associated Press.

For Netanyahu, this meeting provides a chance to bolster international support for Israel while under domestic pressure. Meanwhile, Trump, actively involved in Middle East negotiations, aims to highlight his role in resolving the conflict.

Israel is the largest recipient of U.S. military aid. One of the main topics of negotiations will be unblocking deliveries of American weapons, some of which were frozen by the Biden administration. Netanyahu is also likely to seek Trump's support in increasing pressure on Iran—a regional rival of Israel.

Special attention may be given to efforts in normalizing relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, a leader in the Arab world. This issue remains a key element in Israeli diplomatic strategy.
