Trump: Greenland's Residents Want to Join the U.S.

Donald Trump expressed his belief that Greenland will eventually come under U.S. control, stating that the island's residents support this idea. However, Denmark firmly rejects this possibility, reports NewsBox.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed confidence that Greenland will eventually become part of the United States. Speaking with journalists aboard Air Force One, he noted that the island's population, which numbers around 56,000 people, supports the idea.

Trump stated that controlling Greenland is crucial for ensuring global security. In his opinion, Denmark's refusal, particularly from Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who previously firmly rejected the possibility of selling the island, reflects an unfriendly stance.

The topic of purchasing Greenland was first raised by Trump back in 2019 during his presidency. At that time, he called owning the island a "vital" step for protecting the free world. Now, Trump reiterated that the United States is the only country capable of guaranteeing stability and security for Greenland. He emphasized that this issue concerns not only American interests but also global peace.

Trump's remarks sparked heated discussions in political circles and on social media, where his proposal received mixed reactions.
