No Deal: Musk Declines American TikTok

Elon Musk has denied rumors about acquiring the American division of TikTok, stating that he has no such plans, reports NewsBox.

The American billionaire Elon Musk announced that he does not intend to purchase TikTok's U.S. division. He made this announcement during the Welt Economic Conference held in Berlin on January 28. Musk participated in the event via video link, and a recording of his speech was published on February 8.

Previously, Bloomberg reported that Musk could potentially become the new owner of the American part of the platform. However, TikTok referred to these speculations as "pure fiction."

Additionally, Musk, who heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in Donald Trump's administration, commented on the economic policy of the new U.S. president. According to him, Trump is not seeking to "punish countries" using tariffs but rather aims to create a level playing field for American businesses competing with companies from Europe, China, and other countries.

Earlier, NPR reported that the White House was considering transferring control over TikTok's American operations to Oracle Corporation.
