Murdoch's Media Corporation Apologizes to Prince Harry for Surveillance

Rupert Murdoch's media corporation has issued an apology to Prince Harry for surveillance activities and promised to pay substantial compensation, reports NewsBox.

News Group Newspapers, a company owned by Rupert Murdoch, apologized to Prince Harry for infringing on his right to privacy. The statement reveals that between 1996 and 2011, The Sun newspaper employed private investigators who engaged in illegal practices, including monitoring members of the British royal family. Although Prince Harry will receive a significant compensation, the exact amount remains confidential.

This instance marks the first admission by the media corporation of using unlawful methods in connection with The Sun. Previously, the company's lawyers had denied such allegations, writes the Associated Press.

Prince Harry is no stranger to legal battles against British tabloids. He previously won a case against the publisher of Daily Mirror, accusing the outlet of illegal phone tapping.
