At least 200,000 Palestinians have returned to the northern part of Gaza following Israel's reopening of the checkpoints, reports NewsBox.

Around 200,000 Palestinians have returned to the northern part of the Gaza Strip after Israel reopened the checkpoints. This development was made possible after the Hamas movement released three Israeli hostages, and the Israeli army began withdrawing troops from the main corridor of the enclave as part of a ceasefire agreement.

The Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, led to a massive displacement of the population — about 650,000 people were forced to leave the northern part of Gaza. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, more than 47,000 Palestinians have been killed during Israeli bombings.
