Israel to send singer who survived Hamas massacre to "Eurovision"

Yuval Raphael, who survived the attack at the Nova Festival, will represent Israel at "Eurovision 2025," reports NewsBox.
24-year-old Israeli singer Yuval Raphael, who survived a terrorist attack by Hamas at the Nova Festival, won the national selection "Next Star" and will represent Israel at the "Eurovision 2025" contest.
The song Raphael will perform will be announced later. In the finale of the selection, she performed a ballad version of ABBA's hit "Dancing Queen," dedicating it "to all the angels" who perished during the tragedy.
The attack on the festival took place on October 7, 2023. During the attack, Raphael took refuge in a bomb shelter with dozens of others. Of the 50 people who were in the shelter, only 12 survived. The singer recalls spending about eight hours lying under the body of a deceased person, with her leg trapped between the bodies. Raphael feared that the injury might lead to amputation.
"I can't put into words the heaviness of a dead body," she said about her experience.
Now, her participation in "Eurovision" will symbolize bravery and serve as a memorial to those who lost their lives.
