EU Sanctions Target 25 Chinese Companies

The European Union is planning to impose sanctions on 25 Chinese companies that, according to sources, are allegedly assisting Russia in circumventing existing restrictions, reports NewsBox.

The European Union is preparing a new sanctions package, which includes measures against 25 Chinese companies accused by informed sources from the South China Morning Post (SCMP) of helping Russia bypass existing sanctions. These measures aim to weaken the Russian military economy.

According to the publication, the list could include both companies registered in mainland China and firms based in Hong Kong. If the proposal is approved, these companies will be banned from importing goods from EU countries.

European authorities suspect that these organizations supply Russian companies associated with the defense sector with products that are banned under current sanctions. These actions will become part of the sixteenth EU sanctions package. Additionally, a single Chinese individual may face restrictions, including a travel ban to EU countries and freezing of assets within the territories of the 27 Union states.
