Fresh details have emerged about the aviation disaster in Washington—18 bodies have been recovered from the Potomac River, with no survivors found yet, reports NewsBox.

The search and rescue operation continues in Washington following the collision between a passenger plane and a military helicopter. According to information from the police, as cited by CBS News, 18 bodies have been recovered from the Potomac River. So far, rescuers have not found any survivors.

There were 60 people on board the passenger plane, including four crew members. Three military personnel were aboard the helicopter. Following the collision, both aircraft crashed into the river.

The current water temperature in the Potomac is around 1.5°C, significantly reducing the chances of survival for anyone who may have ended up in the water after the crash. Search efforts are ongoing.
