Xi Jinping to Attend May 9th Celebrations in Moscow

Chairman Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China has accepted an invitation to visit Moscow on May 9th. He also extended an invitation to Vladimir Putin to visit China for events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, reports NewsBox.

China's leader Xi Jinping will visit Moscow on May 9th, having accepted the Russian side's invitation. This was announced by Igor Morgulov, the Russian ambassador in Beijing, during an interview with the "Russia-24" TV channel.

According to the diplomat, Xi Jinping also invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to China for commemorative events marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the victory over Japan.

As previously stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, leaders from numerous countries have been invited to the celebrations in Moscow. Among those who have confirmed their attendance are Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vučić, the head of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas, and Brazil's President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
