World Figure Skating Champions Potentially Involved in U.S. Plane Crash

NewsBox reports that renowned Russian figure skaters Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, along with their son Maxim, were on board the passenger plane that crashed in the United States.
Famous for their performances representing the USSR and Russia, figure skaters Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov were among the passengers of the plane that crashed in the United States. Preliminary information suggests that their son, Maxim Naumov, who recently competed in the U.S. figure skating championships, was also on board.
Since 1998, Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova have been living in the U.S., where they work as coaches. In 1994, the pair were crowned world champions in figure skating and subsequently pursued careers in professional sports. They moved to America following an unsuccessful attempt to qualify for the 1998 Olympic Games.
Maxim Naumov, aged 23, represented the U.S. in a recent championship held in Kansas, securing fourth place with a total score of 248.16 points.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the crash site. The plane broke into two pieces during the fall and is currently submerged about two meters deep in the Potomac River, where water temperatures are near freezing. The rescue operation involves around 300 personnel, but the weather conditions are complicating efforts.
