Weapon Procurement Failure for Armed Forces: Ukrainian Ministry of Defense to Dismiss Those Responsible

Rustem Umerov, the head of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, announced the dismissal of officials responsible for the failed procurement of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reports NewsBox

Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov decided to discharge employees who failed to fulfill their duties in supplying the army with weapons. He stated that he would request the government to remove his deputy, Dmytro Klymenkov, from his position. Additionally, the ministry will not renew the contract with Marina Bezrukova, who heads the Defense Procurement Agency.

According to Umerov, instead of focusing on urgent procurements for the Armed Forces, the staff engaged in political maneuvering and leaked confidential information.

He also noted that the procurement process had become excessively transparent, resembling an online store where all details, from purchase volumes to manufacturers, are visible.
