Trump's Envoy: Putin and Zelensky Should Start Direct Negotiations

Donald Trump's special envoy, Keith Kellogg, stated that Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky need to enter direct talks. According to him, both sides must make concessions to resolve the conflict, reports NewsBox.
The envoy of the former U.S. President Donald Trump on matters concerning Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, expressed the necessity for a direct dialogue between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky. He noted that both parties should agree to certain compromises to address the conflict, as reported by Tagesschau.
Previously, Russian authorities and state media have actively promoted the notion that Zelensky's leadership is illegitimate since his presidential term officially ended in May 2024. However, in Ukraine, there is a broad consensus that maintains Zelensky will continue to fulfill his duties as head of state until the end of the war.
The Kremlin has repeatedly referenced Zelensky's 2022 decree, which stated the impossibility of direct talks with Putin. However, Kellogg indicated that both parties need to reassess their positions, as finding a resolution without dialogue is unachievable.
He also refuted claims that Donald Trump intends to discuss the situation solely with the Russian leader. According to the envoy, a resolution is only possible if both Moscow and Kyiv are prepared for compromise.
