Trump Advocates for Russia's Return to the "Group of Eight" for Peace and Nuclear Disarmament Discussions

The U.S. President, Donald Trump, has announced his desire to bring Russia back into the "Group of Eight" (G8), calling the country's exclusion from the organization in 2014 a "mistake," reports NewsBox.
During a conversation with journalists, Trump expressed the view that the G7 should once again become the G8. He mentioned that he had previously discussed the issue of nuclear arms reduction with Russian President Vladimir Putin and would like to continue these negotiations, writes Ostorozhno, novosti.
Russia was part of the "Group of Eight" from 1997 until 2014. After the annexation of Crimea in the spring of 2014, Russia's participation was suspended, and the organization has since been known as the "Group of Seven" (G7).
Trump also expressed confidence in the possibility of achieving peace with Putin's involvement and assured that Ukraine would participate in the peace talks.
Trump's statement might indicate his intention to reassess relations with Russia in the event of his return to power. The issue of Russia's reintegration into the G8 remains a topic of discussion and elicits diverse opinions among member states.
