The USA released a Russian citizen in exchange for Marc Fogel

Russia and the USA have completed a prisoner exchange: A Russian citizen, freed as part of the agreement with Washington, will return home in the coming days, reports NewsBox.
The Russian citizen will be released as per the agreement with the United States regarding a prisoner swap. This was announced by the press secretary of the Russian Federation's president, Dmitry Peskov, who noted that negotiations between the countries had intensified over the past weeks.
According to Peskov, the established contacts allowed reaching an agreement whereby Marc Fogel, who was sentenced in Russia in 2021 for drug possession, was released and has already returned to the USA. In return, a Russian citizen currently serving time in an American prison will be sent back to Russia shortly.
The name of the released Russian citizen has not yet been disclosed. However, sources in American media claim that the deal involved private negotiations between a special envoy from Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, though there is no official confirmation of this meeting.
Upon Marc Fogel's return, U.S. President Donald Trump remarked that Russia had acted constructively during the exchange. He also expressed hope that this step could initiate dialogue, potentially aiding in resolving the conflict in Ukraine in the future.
