Teenager Detained in Volgograd for Drone Attack Video

In Volgograd, law enforcement detained a 17-year-old teenager for posting a video of a drone attack. The young man was coerced into publicly apologizing on camera for his footage appearing on Telegram channels, reports NewsBox.

In Volgograd, a 17-year-old boy was detained by authorities following the publication of a video documenting a drone attack on the city during the night of February 15th. The teenager captured the moment of the strike and shared it on social media, which led to his detention.

Later, a video of his apology appeared on various media platforms.

I recorded the footage to inform my friends about what was happening in the Kirovsky district. I didn't realize the consequences would be so severe. I want to say that I support all our people involved in the Special Military Operation. I am always happy to help and give back to my country and homeland, he said on camera.

The footage he captured of the drone crash on the roof of a high-rise building at 77 General Shumilov Street was circulated on several Telegram channels. The building is located opposite a facility where apartments are allocated for military personnel and is also near the local military recruitment office.

According to authorities, that night in the Volgograd region, there were records of 17 drone attacks. Governor Andrey Bocharov confirmed that "fragments" of one of them fell on the roof of a residential building. As a result of the attack, one person was injured.

Previously, the regional authorities had prohibited residents from filming the impacts and their aftermath. In early February, following an attack on an oil refinery in the Volgograd region, a ban was imposed on publishing information about strike locations, and journalists were restricted from covering attacks on facilities of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Fuel and Energy Complex. Violations carry fines ranging from 1 to 100 thousand rubles.
