Su-25 Down, Mi-8 Under Fire: Ukrainian Armed Forces Announce New Attack Near Toretsk

The Ukrainian Armed Forces announced the downing of a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft near Toretsk. The pilot ejected but the evacuation was disrupted by FPV drone strikes, as reported by NewsBox.

Ukrainian military sources reported the destruction of the Russian Su-25 aircraft near Toretsk. According to the 28th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the aircraft was shot down using a portable air-defense system (MANPADS).

The crash of the aircraft near the village of Zaitseve was captured on video, which was posted by Ukrainian military personnel. They claim the pilot managed to eject safely. However, the attempt to evacuate the pilot was unsuccessful — the Mi-8 helicopter dispatched for the rescue mission was attacked by FPV drones. As a result, it returned to base with damage and requires repairs.
