Sabotage in Germany: Vice Admiral Reports Russian Involvement

Vice Admiral of the German Navy, Jan Christian Kaack, stated that Russian operatives had damaged several Bundeswehr naval vessels and attempted to infiltrate military bases, reports NewsBox.
German Vice Admiral Jan Christian Kaack disclosed that in January 2025, there were multiple acts of sabotage in Germany targeting the country's navy.
The sabotage was carried out on German warships, where signs of deliberate tampering were found. Specifically, metal shavings were discovered in the fueling system of a vessel, posing a risk of serious technical damage. The shipbuilding company's press office declined to comment on the situation.
Additionally, Kaack mentioned attempts of unauthorized access to military installations, emphasizing that such actions could be part of a larger strategic plan. According to him, the goal of these operations is to create an atmosphere of instability and tension in society.
The Admiral also warned that by 2025, the threat from Russia appears more tangible than it did two years ago. Experts and intelligence services believe that Moscow may be preparing for a direct confrontation with NATO in the long term, starting from 2029. In response, the German military intends to expand its existing security strategies, with additional measures for the protection of Bundeswehr facilities planned for implementation in the near future.
