Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) announced the death of Russian military officer Konstantin Nagaiko, who, according to the agency, was involved in the missile strike on the village of Groza in the Kharkiv region.
Nagaiko was injured in an explosion that occurred on January 3 in the Russian city of Shuya, located in the Ivanovo region. Initially, Ukrainian intelligence stated that the commander of the 112th Rocket Brigade of the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District had received serious wounds. However, GUR now claims he succumbed to his injuries.
"There will be just retribution for each crime against the Ukrainian people," stated Ukrainian intelligence.
The Ukrainian side asserts that Nagaiko took part in the attack on a café in the village of Groza on October 5, 2023, during a wake service. The attack resulted in the deaths of 59 people.
The Russian side has yet to confirm the information regarding his death.
