Russian Defense Ministry Claims Capture of Toretsk – Ukraine Denies

Russia's Ministry of Defense has announced the capture of Toretsk in the Donetsk region, but Ukrainian sources have not confirmed this. According to OSINT analysts, fighting in the city is ongoing, reports NewsBox.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian forces have taken control of the city of Toretsk, located in the Donetsk region. In official statements, the department refers to the city by its Soviet-era name, Dzerzhinsk.

However, Ukrainian analysts from the OSINT project Deep State claim that the city has not yet been fully captured. According to their information, Ukrainian forces continue to defend the Zabalkka neighborhood and hold positions on the northern and western outskirts of Toretsk.

Nazar Voloshyn, a representative of the operational-strategic group of forces "Khortytsya," also stated that fighting continues. In an interview with "Suspilne," he emphasized that Ukrainian troops are engaged in battles within the urban environment, and the situation remains tense.

Thus, despite the statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense, independent sources have not verified full control over the city.
