Moscow and Washington decided to establish a system of regular consultations aimed at reducing tensions in their bilateral relations and restoring normal operations of their diplomatic missions.
This was communicated by the U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, who noted that both parties are striving to achieve a sustainable resolution to the Ukrainian conflict, which would be acceptable to all involved parties.
According to a statement by Reuters, Russia and the United States are also considering the possibility of joint efforts in strategically important areas, including geopolitics, economics, and investments. Both parties believe these opportunities could arise once the military activities in Ukraine are concluded.
Bruce emphasized that a single meeting between negotiators is insufficient to achieve lasting peace, and that communications between the parties will continue in the near future.
