Plants 'Caustic' and 'LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka' Attacked in Volgograd

On the night of February 15, a series of drone attacks targeted the 'Caustic' chemical plant and the 'LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka' oil refinery in Volgograd. A total of 17 drones were launched across the region, with one striking a residential building, injuring a person, reports NewsBox.
A widespread drone assault occurred in Volgograd on the night of February 15. According to sources, the targets included the 'Caustic' plant and the 'LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka' oil processing facility.
A combat drone also crashed on the grounds of the 'Caustic' plant, but no damage or injuries were reported. Meanwhile, more than 15 drones were directed at 'LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka.' According to journalists, all of these were intercepted or shot down by Russian air defense forces.
As indicated on the company's official website, 'Caustic' is one of Russia's largest chemical industry enterprises, producing synthetic hydrochloric acid, commercial chlorine, and caustic soda. Similarly, 'LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka' processes a blend of Western Siberian and Lower Volga low-sulfur oil. This marks the third attack on this facility in 2025.
Aside from the attacks on industrial sites, one of the drones hit a residential building located at 77 General Shumilov Street. This building is situated opposite a property listed as housing for military personnel. As a result of the impact, one person sustained injuries.
According to local authorities, a total of 17 UAVs were launched into the Volgograd region overnight between February 14 and 15. Regional governor Andrey Bocharov confirmed that drone debris fell on the roof of a residential high-rise.
