People Moved, Guards Removed: What Changed at the Ceremony with Putin?

During the floral tribute ceremony at the Piskaryovskoye Cemetery, Vladimir Putin was noticeably further from the crowd compared to last year, reports NewsBox.

On the 80th anniversary of the lifting of the Siege of Leningrad, Vladimir Putin laid flowers at the 'Motherland' monument at the Piskaryovskoye memorial cemetery. This year, participants were positioned significantly further from the President than they were the previous year.

In 2024, people stood on the side path of the main avenue, but now they have been moved to one of the alleys between the mass graves. According to the 'Agency,' the distance increased from 10 to 35 meters, which allowed the removal of security personnel from view during the broadcast.

In the Kremlin-released video, Putin is seen walking alone down the central avenue against the backdrop of mass graves, with dramatic music playing. People at a distance were recording the event on their phones, to which the President responded with a wave of greeting.
