Patriarch Kirill Calls for Ban on Satanism in Russia

Patriarch Kirill has called for Satanism to be classified as an extremist movement in Russia, stating that this ideology poses a threat to national values and consciousness, reports NewsBox.
Patriarch Kirill proposed recognizing Satanism as an extremist movement in Russia, emphasizing that its spread endangers national identity and spiritual values. He noted that Satanists freely conduct their rituals and actively manage communities on social media, which he finds unacceptable.
The head of the Russian Orthodox Church said that Satanism weakens the nation and undermines the foundation of national identity. According to him, Russian soldiers involved in military operations sacrifice their lives for values allegedly trampled on by Satanists.
The idea to prohibit Satanism as an extremist movement was previously discussed in the State Duma in the summer of 2024.
