Mobilization without Exceptions? Russia Cancels Deferments for State Company Employees

Employees of major state-owned companies in Russia are no longer being exempted from mobilization. MTS and Sber have been hiring new staff for several months without offering deferment guarantees, reports NewsBox.
Large state corporations in Russia have begun cancelling exemptions for their employees from mobilization. According to Faridaily, these measures have already been implemented at MTS and Sber, where new hires are brought on without promises of deferment from the draft.
The situation in Rostec and the oil and gas industry is less severe, but exemption from mobilization is retained for only a portion of employees. These sweeping changes are related to a new regulation, which tightens the process of obtaining an exemption and will come into effect at the end of March.
As a result, the list of employees entitled to deferments in Russia will significantly decrease, which might influence the labor market and the interest of citizens in seeking employment with state companies.
