Lifeguard Rescues in the Black Sea: Jellyfish Do Not Deter Anapa Residents

In Anapa, despite the recent outbreak of jellyfish, lifeguard rescues took place at the central beach of Bolshoi Utrish. This is reported by the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory, as conveyed by NewsBox.

Against the backdrop of ecological issues caused by the jellyfish outbreak, lifeguard rescues were conducted in the Black Sea in Anapa. According to the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory, these events took place on January 18 at the central beach of Bolshoi Utrish.

To ensure beach safety, the coastal area was monitored, and lifeguards observed the bathing process. Due to the increased wave activity in the sea, all participants were given life vests. The first swimmers appeared on the beach around 8 PM, coinciding with the start of the holiday service.

Residents and participants assure that the water was clean. One of the local residents, Vladimir Balukov, stated that even during the jellyfish outbreak, he swam without noticing any jellyfish.

However, the scientific director of the Institute for Water Problems, RAN, Viktor Danilov-Danilyan warns about potential risks. According to him, jellyfish do not dissolve in water, but contact with skin can cause burns, allergies, or even anaphylaxis.
