Khristolub Bozhiy Vegan Convicted for Justifying Nazism in Voronezh

In Voronezh, a 40-year-old blogger named Khristolub Bozhiy Vegan was sentenced to three years in a settlement colony on charges of Nazi rehabilitation. The court also mandated that he undergo psychiatric treatment and prohibited him from managing websites for four years, reports NewsBox.

The Voronezh Regional Court handed down the sentence to the blogger, Khristolub Bozhiy Vegan, after finding him guilty of rehabilitating Nazism. The court sentenced him to three years in a settlement colony and ordered him to undergo compulsory psychiatric treatment.

The case against the blogger began in February 2023 after a half-hour video appeared on his YouTube channel, which, according to the investigation, contained justifications of Nazism and other prohibited statements. Later, additional incidents were uncovered, and Khristolub underwent a psychiatric evaluation, which diagnosed him with schizotypal disorder.

The court also banned Khristolub from administering websites for four years. The prosecution had requested a four-year prison term, but the court imposed a one-year reduction in the sentence.

Previously, there was a criminal case against the blogger under charges of insulting religious feelings due to his videos criticizing Islam and making statements against Ramzan Kadyrov. However, the court dismissed this case due to the statute of limitations.

Khristolub presents himself as a "preacher and disciple of Jesus Christ" and has been blogging about faith, pacifism, and veganism for eight years. Speaking to journalists before the hearing, he declared that he does not consider himself guilty, asserting that those claiming victimization in this case had not expressed any complaints.
