Kellogg: Sanctions against Russia can be strengthened – they're only at 'three out of ten'

Donald Trump is prepared to intensify sanctions against Russia, as stated by his special envoy Keith Kellogg. According to him, the current sanctions are not stringent enough, and Moscow should face economic, military, and diplomatic pressure, reports NewsBox.

The Trump administration is considering significantly ramping up sanction pressure on Russia. As the U.S. President’s envoy for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, declared, the current measures can be strengthened, as their effectiveness currently scores “only 3 out of 10”.

In an interview with The New York Post, Kellogg emphasized that Washington could toughen sanctions on Russian oil production and exports, which would deliver a severe blow to the Russian economy.

If anyone understands the leverage of pressure, it’s President Trump, Kellogg added.

Moreover, he believes that it is imperative to employ not only economic but also diplomatic and military measures against Moscow. In his opinion, the Biden administration’s policy in this regard is ineffective; although the White House has promised to support Ukraine “for as long as it takes,” the necessary volumes and timing of arms deliveries have not been met.

Kellogg criticized this approach, stating that “this is not a strategy, it’s just a bumper sticker.”
