Kazakh National Team Kicks Off Winter Asian Games with Three Silver Medals

After the first day of the 2025 Winter Asian Games, Kazakhstan ranks 4th in the medal standings, with three silver medals to their name, reports NewsBox.

The Kazakh national team concluded the first day of the 2025 Winter Asian Games in 4th place overall. The team has secured three silver medals.

Kazakhstan's first medal was brought in by the short track team, who finished second in the mixed relay event over a 2000-meter distance. Another silver was claimed by speed skater Evgeny Koshkin, who excelled in the 100-meter race.

The third medal was achieved by skier Konstantin Bortsov. Initially, he finished third, but after the disqualification of Japanese athlete Haruki Yamashita for using prohibited materials, the Kazakh athlete was elevated to second place.

China remains at the top of the medal leaderboard, followed by South Korea and Japan. Tomorrow, February 9, athletes are set to compete for another 13 sets of medals.
