Residents of the city of Mogocha in the Zabaykalsky region are demanding that Sanan Guseynov, accused of killing his ex-wife, not be sent off to war. They have launched a petition, fearing that his contract with the Ministry of Defense could allow him to evade punishment, reports NewsBox.

In the Zabaykalsky region, the residents of Mogocha have protested against sending Sanan Guseynov to the frontlines, who is accused of the brutal murder of his former spouse. They have organized a petition, which more than three thousand people have signed to date.

According to the investigation, Guseynov shot his ex-wife 12 times with a modified traumatic gun. Despite the seriousness of the crime, the case was put on hold since the accused signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense and is expected to be deployed to a combat zone.

The petition highlights that the murdered woman leaves behind a daughter, and her parents are worried that Guseynov might escape justice. Activists emphasize that thousands of women in Russia become victims of domestic violence every year, and they argue that this case should not become another unpunished tragedy.

Earlier, it was reported that the victim had repeatedly turned to the police fearing for her life, but no criminal charges were filed against Guseynov. Now, local residents demand that he face fair punishment and not be allowed to dodge responsibility by signing a contract.
