In St. Petersburg, a case was opened against a priest for "failing to report himself"

An administrative case was initiated against the St. Petersburg priest Grigory Mikhnov-Vaytenko for failing to report his own foreign agent status. He himself responded to the situation with irony, reports NewsBox.

St. Petersburg priest Grigory Mikhnov-Vaytenko became involved in an administrative case over "failing to report" himself as a foreign agent. The issue arose because he did not notify the Ministry of Justice about his inclusion in this list.

I received a "letter of happiness" via the esteemed State Services. It seems I didn't manage to notify the Ministry of Justice in advance about falling under enemy influence," the priest wrote on his Telegram channel.

Mikhnov-Vaytenko was added to the "foreign agents" registry in the summer of 2024. For violating the legal requirements, he faces a fine of up to 50,000 rubles.

Previously, in February 2024, the priest had planned to hold a memorial service for Alexei Navalny but was detained by the authorities before he could do so.
