Donald Trump announced his intention to push for a reduction in oil prices, which he believes might expedite the resolution of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He made this comment during an economic forum in Davos, writes "BBC Russian Service".

I will ask Saudi Arabia and OPEC to lower the oil price. It needs to be reduced! If the [oil] price drops, the war between Russia and Ukraine will end immediately! — the former U.S. president is quoted by the publication.

Currently, the price of oil is approximately 80 dollars per barrel.
