FSB Detains Rostov Region Minister

Konstantin Rachalovsky, the Deputy Governor and Minister of Agriculture of the Rostov Region, has been detained on charges of exceeding his authority. According to the FSB, the damage is estimated at 156 million rubles, reports NewsBox.

Konstantin Rachalovsky, the Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region, who also holds the position of Minister of Agriculture, has been detained by law enforcement agencies. TASS reported this citing a source, and the information was later confirmed by the regional government.

According to FSB data, the official is involved in a case related to abuse of power, with the damage assessed at 156 million rubles. Details of the investigation have not been disclosed yet.

Rachalovsky has been serving as the Minister of Agriculture of the Rostov Region since 2014. Prior to that, he was the First Deputy Head of the Aksay District Administration. In September 2023, he was appointed Deputy Governor while retaining his ministerial role.

Investigative bodies are currently determining the circumstances surrounding the case.
