FSB captures prosecutor who orchestrated deserter escapes from the "SVO" zone

A military prosecutor's office employee has been arrested for orchestrating the escape of soldiers from a combat zone, reports NewsBox.

The FSB's military counterintelligence has detained Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Alexey Akhrameshin, who worked in the military prosecutor's office and is accused of assisting deserters. According to "Kommersant," Akhrameshin, who held the position of state prosecutor in military cases, is suspected of organizing soldier escapes from combat areas.

Currently, the case involves one incident: the prosecutor received 200,000 rubles for aiding a Sochi native who decided to desert. He listed the deserter as a witness in a trial, allowing him to avoid inspection. Afterwards, Akhrameshin personally transported the deserter to Rostov-on-Don, where he was met by relatives.

Investigators believe this was far from an isolated case. According to the FSB, the prosecutor may have facilitated the escape of dozens of soldiers. The investigation is overseen by the Main Military Prosecutor's Office. Akhrameshin faces charges under Article 290 of the Russian Criminal Code for bribery. The 235th Garrison Military Court has imposed a measure of restraint by arresting him for two months.
