Founder of the Largest IT Company Detained in Mari El

In Mari El, Yury Uskov, the founder of iSpring, the largest IT company in the republic, has been detained on charges of fraud. According to the company, this is allegedly due to his active civic engagement, reports NewsBox.

In Mari El, the founder of the IT company iSpring, Yury Uskov, has been detained. Investigative authorities accuse him of fraud related to the acquisition of land plots at undervalued prices in 2013. The damage in the case is estimated at 20.5 million rubles.

The company considers the charges to be fabricated and attributes these events to Uskov's active stance against the development of recreational areas in the region. An official statement from iSpring says that the company founder has always acted in the interest of the republic, and his initiatives might have displeased certain groups.

In a video address, Uskov described the prosecution as politically motivated and "an absolutely subjective story."

The businessman's detention has sparked widespread attention. In his support, Senator Dmitry Rogozin and bloggers Egor Kholmogorov and Roman Yuneman spoke out, calling him a "Russian patriot" who supports the front line.

iSpring is one of the largest Russian developers of online learning platforms, operating not only in Russia but also in international markets.
