In the Ust-Luga port of the Leningrad region, an accident occurred involving a tanker transporting 130,000 tons of fuel oil. According to Baza, multiple explosions happened in the ship's engine room, which caused it to lose control and run aground.

The vessel is registered under the flag of Antigua and Barbuda. On board were 24 people, including four Russians, eight citizens of Georgia, and 12 sailors from Indonesia. The entire crew was successfully evacuated, and there were no injuries.

The governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, stated that a technical malfunction during the engine startup caused the incident. According to him, the ship is docked, and there is no risk of oil product spills. Specialists are continuing to assess the condition of the tanker.
