Explosion and Fire at Scandalous Rostov Detention Center

An explosion and subsequent fire occurred in the office of the system administrator at Rostov Detention Center No. 1. Preliminary reports suggest the incident may have been caused by faulty wiring that was not repaired following previous accidents, reports NewsBox.
In the widely notorious Rostov-on-Don Detention Center No. 1, there was a loud bang followed by a fire. According to SHOT, the epicenter of the incident was the system administrator’s office, where technical equipment is located.
Preliminary data suggests that the fire might have been sparked by defective wiring. Approximately two years ago, there was an explosion in an electrical panel in this building, but it's believed that the wiring was not fully repaired. At the time of the incident, two staff members were in the building, but neither was harmed. There were no detainees in the room, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
Detention Center No. 1 has frequently been at the center of scandals. In January of this year, an escape attempt by inmates who tried to dig a tunnel was reported. Additionally, media outlets reported about a staff member who, for bribes, was bringing women from a separate facility into the men's cells. Previously, Vyacheslav Tsepev, a member of the Tsapkov gang, had been held here. His "luxurious" living conditions, including red caviar and a plasma TV, sparked public outrage. In July of last year, the facility became the scene of yet another incident when terrorists took hostages among the prison staff.
Currently, all details of the incident are being clarified, and the examination of the incident by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs is ongoing.
