Elected Mayor of Berezovsky Fails to Attend Inauguration

In Sverdlovsk Oblast, newly elected mayor of Berezovsky, Yulia Maslakova, did not attend her own inauguration. The city council reported that she is unreachable and had previously filed a lawsuit challenging her election, reports NewsBox.
A new scandal has erupted in the city of Berezovsky (Sverdlovsk Oblast) after the newly elected mayor, Yulia Maslakova, failed to appear at the swearing-in ceremony. The city council confirmed that the oath of office has not yet been administered, and Maslakova remains out of contact.
City council representatives told the publication "Kommersant" that the reasons for the mayor's absence are currently unclear, but "could be valid."
Maslakova was elected at the end of January following a competitive selection process, where her only opponent was the sitting city head, Yevgeny Pitsov. According to one deputy, the election outcome was more of a protest against Pitsov than support for Maslakova.
However, on February 12, Maslakova filed a court request to annul her appointment, creating a legal precedent.
The situation remains uncertain: the mayor has been elected but has not begun fulfilling her duties, and her future actions are currently unknown.
