Danish Intelligence: Russia May be Preparing for War with NATO

Danish intelligence has warned that Russia may be preparing for a potential military confrontation with NATO. According to a published report, Moscow is increasing its military capabilities, and in just a few years, it could pose a threat to Europe, reports NewsBox.

The Danish Foreign and Military Intelligence Service has released a report which assesses the potential threat from Russia to Western countries. The document notes that Moscow continues its active rearmament and could be preparing for a large-scale conflict with NATO.

However, the authors of the report emphasize that Russia has not yet made a final decision to start a war with the alliance. The danger might increase if Moscow perceives weaknesses or internal discord within NATO, or if there is insufficient support for Europe from the United States.

According to Danish intelligence, if combat operations in Ukraine conclude, Russia could free up some of its military resources and, within six months, might be ready for a localized conflict with one of the NATO countries. In two years, the Baltic states could be under threat.

Five years after the end of the war in Ukraine, Russia could be capable of waging full-scale military operations in Europe. The report underscores that these forecasts are probabilistic but are based on current trends in Russian militarization.
